Surf Smart Workshop
The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association
Surf Smart Programme
Girl Guides Workshop
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association (HKGGA) recognise the importance of the Internet to the life of our members. By promoting the “Surf Smart” curriculum, we hope to support girls and young women to build the knowledge and understanding when using the Internet. We hope that they can equip themselves with the skills they will need to enjoy using the Internet safely and to its fullest potential and to build skills, awareness and confidence in managing the risks associated with it. This curriculum is suitable for girls in all sections. Members can receive the “Surf Smart Badge" upon completion of the challenges.
The Association is going to hold a “Surf Smart” Workshop during the summer holidays. Members from the WAGGGS Knowledge Team will carry out a series of “Put Yourself First” activities with participants. We have also invited representatives from the Customs and Excise Department to share knowledge on intellectual property rights and infringing copies on the Internet.
The workshop is Free of Charge. Participants will receive the “Surf Smart Badge" and “Summer Youth Programme Badge” after the workshop.
