This course is a Taster Programme organized by the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association under “Jockey Club Badges: Preparing for Tomorrow’s Leaders Programme”. The course is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and is free of charge.

Objective

Young people aged 10 to 20 who have a basic understanding of music are welcome to participate, and we will provide them with a star-level training course, allowing them to unleash their musical talents in a relaxed and stress-free environment. Each participant must be able to play an instrument, such as electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, jazz drum, etc.  All applicants must attend an interview and audition which will be organized by the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association (“the Association”).

Contents of the Course

Professional band training will be provided to help participants better understand modern music and band styles, and gain an in-depth understanding of chord usage, band playing skills, song ensemble skill, etc.

Course Tutors/Instructors

The Association is very honored to have Ms. Vikki Tong (Teacher Vikki), the famous singer of the classical children's song 《夢中天使》("Angel in Dreams"), and her team of professional instructors to design course contents and teach for this course. Miss Tong and her professional team of instructors will impart their professional talents to the participants of this course.

Interview and Audition time

(1) All applicants must attend interviews and auditions. Applicants must play an instrument of their choice for 5 minutes. The Association can provide keyboards and jazz drums for performance. Applicants may also bring their own performance instruments.

(2) Interview and audition time

Applicants should reserve time to attend interview and audition.

(3) If applicants pass the audition, they will be successfully admitted. Successful applicants will receive individual notifications by email and whatsapp before March 6, 2024 (Wednesday). Applicants who have not been offered admission will also receive an email notification.

After completing the training course, we will try our best to arrange participants to perform various types of performances and have joint performances with participants of the Group Dancing and Singing Course in appropriate activities and platforms.
