The Helen Storrow Seminar (HSS) is an international leadership development event held every year at Our Chalet, WAGGGS’s World Centre in Switzerland. Since 1986, the seminar has empowered young women to become leaders for change, focusing on environmental sustainability.

 

In 2026, the “Lead for Environmental Change” HSS theme is “Water Conservation.” For the purposes of the HSS, WAGGGS defines water conservation as responsible management and efficient use of water resources to ensure sustainable water supplies, to protect biodiversity and ecosystems, and to maintain human well-being. Participants will explore ways to protect water around the world and develop local, regional, or national projects to take action for water conservation.

 

HKGGA had been invited to nominate 1 member to have opportuinty to participate in the Helen Storrow Seminar, who meets the following criteria:

  • Be active members of a HKGGA

  • Is a young women (Ranger/Guider) aged 18-25 at the time of the event

  • Is passionate about water conservation and environmental sustainability

  • Has not attended a previous WAGGGS leadership seminar or programme

  • Be able to understand and communicate well in English

  • Be committed to designing and running an environmental project in the wider community

 

Event Fee: HKD$9,440 (TBC, as HKGGA subsidised 50% for qualified participant, and actual cost will be confirmed later)
