The Helen Storrow Seminar is WAGGGS' introductory level leadership development event, gives young people from around the world the chance to connect on issues they care about and take the lead as agents of change in their communities.
This special programme has been held at Our Chalet, WAGGGS’ World Centre in Switzerland, since 1986. But due to epidemic, the seminar held by online this year and allows participants to explore the environmental issues they face in their communities and inspires them to value and protect the environment in a different way. It will take place from the 1st to the 24th of October 2021.
Tentative schedule as follow:
- 1-3 October: Opening and weekend of online sessions
- 4-22 October: A couple of weekly sessions including time in small groups and informal networking time
- 23-24 October: Weekend of sessions and closing
If you are:
- Be active members of a HKGGA
- Be 18 - 25 years old Ranger/Guider
- Be able to understand and communicate well in English
- Not have participated in any WAGGGS seminar before
- Be passionate about environmental issues
- Be committed to designing and running an environmental project in the wider community
- Be eager to develop new leadership skills and support their Association
- Be a mature and responsible global citizen
Event fee: HKD$1,000 (the Association subsidizes 50% for each qualified participant)
