Aim：

1. Promote and Inspire Girl Guides to develop their talents through the singing competition
2. Arouse the interest of Girl Guides on Music
3. Enable Girl Guides to express themselves and their emotions, thereby enhancing their self-confidence and establishing positive values

Format：

Preliminary round  -

1. The competition will be in the form of video, singing skills, rhythm, emotion and performance style will be the evaluated.
2. The judges will make selections based on the videos submitted by the participants, participant(s) from each of the following groups will be shortlisted for the finals:
   

   I. Happy Bee
   II. Brownie Guide
   III. Girl Guide
   IV. Ranger Guide
   V. Golden Guide, Guider or Commissioner

3. Participants can choose solo/chorus (2-10 people) performance

• Chorus members must from the same section

• Only ONE member will be responsible for registration (relevant information will be emailed to the member who responsible for registration)

4. Participant(s) require to record a video, including a brief self-introduction (1 minute) and the song performance (not more than 3 minutes), and upload it to Youtube/Online Drive and submit the link to the registration form.
5. Entries can be the background music of your own choice (pure music) /any instrumental accompaniment/ a cappella.
6. The selection of songs should be mainly inspirational. The performances should be dignified and avoid indecent content.
7. The organizing committee will issue a confirmation notice within 2 working days after receiving the participant’s registration and link. If no confirmation notice is received within 2 working days, please contact the organizing committee.
8. The list of finalists will be notified individually by email.

Finals –

1. Finalists must prepare the soundtrack for their performance by themselves. The organizing committee only accepts pure music formats in MP3 and does not accept any live accompaniment.

2. The finalists must submit the music MP3 to the organizing committee before the designated time.
3. In the competition day, champion, second runner-up, third runner up, best stage manners award and best performance award will be selected from the 5 finalists.

Entry details：

1. 1. All selected songs cannot be changed once submitted

   2. The finalists are required to perform a song of their own choice which should not exceed 3 minutes

   3. Participants must register on time at the day of the finals. Those who fail to do will be disqualified by the Organizing Committee

   4. Participants must agree to all terms and conditions of the competition
   5. The organizing committee reserves the final right to change the rules of the competition
   6. The organizing committee reserves the right to make the final decision on the eligibility of participants

   7. Participants must dress in uniform neatly in the preliminary and final rounds

   8. Participants are required to reserve time on the day of final as it will be held during the annual dinner.

 

Scoring Standard：

• Pronunciation and articulation
• Pitch and time
• Song interpretation
• Timbre

 

Deadline for registration：

11:59p.m., 16th October, 2023

 

Award：

All participants will be awarded an electronic certificate of participation.

Champion, second runner-up, third runner-up, the best stage manners award and the best performance award will be selected (Awarded with certificate and trophy).

 

Singing contest schedule：

Preliminary round (in video format)：	15th September to 16th October, 2023
Review stage：	17th – 24th October, 2023
Shortlist notification：	25th October, 2023
Deadline for shortlisted participants' music MP3 soundtrack submission：	31st October, 2023
Finals：	Date: 12th November, 2023 Location: Holiday Inn Golden Mile, Hong Kong Time: 7pm to 10pm

Registration method：

Complete Online Registration form。Members who under age 18 must provide the signature of guardian.

Submission for the preliminary round: Update the video to Youtube/Online drive and submit the sharing link on the registration form / email the video to chung.irene@hkgga.org.hk
