The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association Annual Dinner was successfully held on Sunday, 10 November 2024. This year our theme was "Heartfelt Love of Hong Kong in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China". Gracing the Event were Guests of Honour Mrs Kirsty Chan, wife of Chief Secretary for Administration; Mrs Huili Liang Cui, wife of Commissioner of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HKSAR; Ms Louise Ho, CDSM CMSM, Commissioner of Customs and Excise; key government officials, Heads of Uniformed Groups and Disciplined Services, School Principals and members of the Guiding family. Over 600 guests had an enjoyable evening at Choi Fook Royal Banquet Hall to celebrate our successful Guiding year as well as the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China.

The celebratory night commenced officially with a Lighting Ceremony and two moving songs— “Our Home” (我們的家) and “Ode to the Motherland” (歌唱祖國) delivered by Happy Bees, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Golden Guides. The illumination of the heart-shaped lights symbolised a united effort in shaping the future of Hong Kong whilst cultivated love for our Country and our community. The guests were toasted and treated to an evening filled with delectable food and exciting programmes, such as the magic show, various lucky draws and the eagerly anticipated Singing Contest. Our teams of passionate contestants from Tuen Mun, Yau Tsim Mong, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Central & Western, Sai Kung & Tseung Kwan O district associations, as well as New Territories Regional Association and a team of Brownies and Guides showcased their singing talents and teamwork that aimed to win the hearts of our guests – everyone was eligible to cast a vote for the Top 3. We must express our heartfelt thanks to Mrs Kirsty Chan, Mrs Huili Liang Cui, Ms Louise Ho, and renowned musician Mr Phoebus Chan for being our adjudicators who selected the winners of the eight Performance Awards.

The 2024 Annual Dinner was a huge success. The Guiding family would like to acknowledge with appreciation everyone who assisted in organising the event. In particular, we wish to express our gratitude to Dr Margaret Choi BBS and Mrs Christine Wong SBS, Chairmen of the Organising Committee for their dedication and guidance throughout these months; as well as all the Committee members, table sponsors and prize sponsors for their enthusiasm and generosity.
