   Appreciate don’t Adjudicate – “Action on Body Confidence” Launching Ceremony  

(Note: This event would be conducted in Cantonese)

Starting from 2014, HKGGA launched the “Free Being Me” Programme which was co-designed by WAGGGS and Dove, enhance the body confidence of girls and make a new idea on “Real Beauty”, helping them to develop their potential on their real lives.  Up to now over seven thousand youth members and five hundred Guiders as well as Peer Educators received training on the respective area.

With the long term support from Dove Hong Kong on real beauty and self-esteem of women, a series of promotion activities on the theme “Appreciate don’t Adjudicate” is launched, to advocate no adjudications and tagging of women of the society, to explore the real meaning of “Beauty”, as well as to encourage every Hong Kong women to learn the only beauty that they own.  This year, with the support of Dove Hong Kong, HKGGA brings the idea of “Free Being Me” a step forward, proudly launches the “Action on Body Confidence” programme to their members. School tours will also be held in some primary and secondary schools to empower girls to reach their fullest potential by strengthening their body confidence and self-esteem.  Furthermore, Dove will donate part of their revenue on Mother’s Day to The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association in supporting of this programme.

With the support by Dove Hong Kong, ‘Appreciate don’t Adjudicate – “Action on Body Confidence” Launching Ceremony’ would be organized, with invitations to youth members from all sections, their family members as well as their Guiders,  With sharing from celebrity and expericing activities, participants will learn the Real Beauty, enhancing family relationships as well as their self-esteem.

Date: 14^th July 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 15:00-17:30
Venue: Hall, 3/F HKGGA HQs (8 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon)
Target: Youth members (Brownie, Guide and Ranger) of age 7 or above, their family members and Guiders
Remarks:
1. 1 youth member to be accompanied by maximum 1 family member or Guider
2. Female family members are preferable to join
Quota: 150
Dress Code: Uniformed Member - Full Uniform ; Family Member - Casual
Charge: Free (All participants would be given a souvenir for free)
Deadline: 4^th July 2018 (Wednesday)

1. Donation Presentation Ceremony by Dove Hong Kong
2. Former Girl Guide cum Hong Kong Singer – Ms. Kay Tse sharing tips for self-confidence as well as to shape the “Future Me”
3. Sharing by Registered Social Worker on how to deal with adjudication by others
4. “Action on Body Confidence” Thematic Activities

Application Guidelines

1. Application would be handled by first-come-first-served basis, and would not be handled if the information provided by the applicant is incomplete.
2. Enrollment list would be posted on the event website.
3. The participant’s name could not be amended once the application is accepted.  If the enrolled participant could not attend the event please inform the Course Registration Staff as soon as possible.
