UNESCO HK Peacemakers Youth Training Camp

With the invitation by UNESCO Hong Kong, Hong Kong Girl Guides would have a chance to join the “Peacemakers Youth Training Camp”.  Details are as follows:-

 

Activity aims

To nurture the youths as Peacemakers and to deepen the knowledge of 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Peace; to strengthen the independence, compatibility, ability to obey and discipline of youths in uniformed groups; to build a sportsmanship for the youth in daily lives. Activities including workshops, experiential games as well as a series of activities related to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Participants who have completed the camp would be awarded with Peacemaker Certificate.

 

Activity details

Organizer: UNESCO Hong Kong Centre for Peace and Glocal Development

Date: 20/10/2018(Saturday) - 21/10/2018(Sunday)

Time: 20/10 (1pm) - 21/10 (12pm)

Venue: Po Leung Kuk Sai Kung Campsite

Target: Guides, Rangers and Guiders who aged 14-24 years old

Quota: 8*

Application Deadline: 3/10/2018(Wednesday) 9/10/2018(Tuesday)

 

*If application numbers exceed the quota, the HKGGA will arrange interview in mid-October to select suitable participants

Responsibilities of Peacemakers

To attend and assist in the below events:-

Points to note before apply

1. Applicants must submit Application Form(including the Health Condition Declaration, for applicants who aged below 18 years old must also fill in the Parents Consent Form). 
2. The HKGGA will sponsor all programme fee for participants($160/person), participants need to apply with a cheque as deposit (Amount:$160, payable to the The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association). The original cheque will be returned to participants upon the completion of the training camp and two Peacemakers events. If the applicant is not selected as one of the participants, the original cheque will also be returned to her.
3. Application without application form or payment will be regarded as unsuccessfully and will not be accepted.
4. All arrangements are subject to the final decision of the UNESCO Hong Kong Centre for Peace and Glocal Development.

 

Application method

Application Form and programme fee(payable to: The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association) should be submitted by Post or In-Person to The Hong Kong Girls Guides Association – Programme Department. (Address: 8 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong) on or before 9 October 2018 (Tuesday).
