In response to the government announcement today (25 Jan 2020) to raise the response level from “Serious” to “Emergency” in response to the latest situation of Novel Coronavirus, and extend all schools’ (including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and special schools) Chinese New Year holidays till 17 Feb, the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association advises the following activity arrangements:

1/ Unit meetings of ALL sections (including Happy Bees, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Golden Guides) should be temporarily suspended during the said period;

2/ Raffle public sale from today until 16 Feb will be cancelled;

3/ ALL unit activities including camp and holiday camp will be cancelled;

4/ When having respiratory symptoms, such as fever, cough or sneeze, members should seek medical advice promptly and take adequate rest at home;

5/ Avoid visiting crowded places. If necessary, Girl Guide members should wear surgical masks, carry and hand washing solution for handwashing and disinfection when hand-washing facilities are not available.

Further announcements will be made whenever receiving any latest news or guidelines from the Department of Health and the Education Bureau.
