Members invite people to buy charity raffles to promote the message of helping the disadvantaged groups in the community.

Instructions

Apply for the permission of selling charity raffles from HKGGA.

Activities can be carried out more than once so as to raise more money and funding.

Members share their feelings after the activity.

Which elements of the method are used, and how?

☑ My path, my pace – Members express their sincerity and promote to strangers of the message of helping people.

☑ Learning by doing – When selling raffles, members may have the chance of being rejected. They realize that not everyone has the sense of helping people. That is why members need to use their strength to help as many people as they can.

☑Connecting with others – Members not only invite people to participate in charity works, but also promote the spirit of Girl Guides to the public. This enables exchange of ideas.

☑Connecting with my world – Members learn to care for the disadvantaged groups in the society. This improves the relationship and cohesion among people in the community.

Members learn to try again when they are rejected, until the completion of the target.

How can you connect this activity to the values of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting?

Members share their feelings after the activity. They learn to respect others. They also offer helps to others when they meet difficulties. These activities help build up the self-esteem and self-value of members.
