"Jockey Club Badges: Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders" Project Introduction
Youth with multifaceted potentials are the key driving force of the community. To nurture young people with diverse potential and enable them to thrive in a fastchanging world, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has funded and initiated the “Jockey Club Badges: Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders”. The programme aims to support uniformed groups in fostering youth development through its unique youth empowerment training model. Participating Uniformed Group including The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association, Hong Kong Adventure Corps, Hong Kong Army Cadets Association Hong Kong Red Cross, Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps, Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, Scout Association of Hong Kong and Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade Youth Command. In addition to strengthening existing membership bases of UGs, the programme hopes to deepen the synergies among them, thereby attracting more young people to join as UG members. The programme also encourages uniformed groups to mobilise youth members to devise innovative social service projects to serve the underprivileged with creative ideas.
The "Jockey Club Badges: Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders" aims to deepen the synergies among uniformed groups and encourages them to devise innovative projects that inspire young people to actively participate in the community. The programme features two key components: (1) Taster Programmes, where UGs showcase their unique features and offer programmes for open enrolment by interested youth; and (2) Innovative Social Programme, where UGs leverage the unique youth training model transforming youth members into leaders and devise innovative programmes to empower and mobilise youth UG members to serve the underprivileged. A one-stop platform for programme enrolment, project management and data analysis; as well as cross-UG mass events for enhanced publicity and promotion are also launched to achieve synergies and collaboration among UGs.
