About the Award
General Requirements
Voluntary participation
All participants and adult volunteers are voluntary to participate in the program. Participants have the right to choose activities from each of the section and plan for the time to complete. Voluntary participation will not only inspire young people to aim high, but also develop their self-discipline, perseverance and indomitable spirit.
Make good use of leisure time
Participants must perform the activities after school or work, in order to make good use of their spare time and enrich their lives.
Equal Opportunities
The program is available to all young people, regardless of gender, race, religion, political affiliation, intellectual and able-bodied.
Age Limit
The age range of the Scheme is from the 14 to the 24.
The minimum starting ages for each Award are:
Bronze – 14 years old
Silver – 15 years old
Gold – 16 years old
Three Awards, Four Sections
There are 3 Award Levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold.
For each Award, those taking part have to complete the requirements of each of the 4 sections: Service, Expeditions, Skills and Physical Recreation.
For the Gold Award, participants also have to complete a Residential Project.
Activity Time
For direct entrants, the time limits to complete the level are:-
Bronze: At least 6 months
Silver: At least 12 months
Gold: At least 18 months

Apply for Section Activities
Bronze or Silver Award
Please contact HKGGAOA at tpg@hkgga.org.hk at least TWO WEEKS before you start the activity.
Note: If you would like to complete the section with HKGGA interest badges, please bring along the interest badge certificate with the HKAYP Record book to Programme Department, 1/F, HKGGA Headquarters (8 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon) for conversion.
Gold Award
Please prepare a plan book and send to tpg@hkgga.org.hk or mail to HKGGAOA, c/o Programme Department, HKGGA Headquarters, 8 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon at least ONE MONTH before you start the activity.
